SceneFlowFields: Dense Interpolation of Sparse Scene Flow Correspondences
نویسندگان
چکیده
While most scene flow methods use either variational optimization or a strong rigid motion assumption, we show for the first time that scene flow can also be estimated by dense interpolation of sparse matches. To this end, we find sparse matches across two stereo image pairs that are detected without any prior regularization and perform dense interpolation preserving geometric and motion boundaries by using edge information. A few iterations of variational energy minimization are performed to refine our results, which are thoroughly evaluated on the KITTI benchmark and additionally compared to state-of-the-art on MPI Sintel. For application in an automotive context, we further show that an optional ego-motion model helps to boost performance and blends smoothly into our approach to produce a segmentation of the scene into static and dynamic parts.

A loop-consistency measure for dense correspondences in multi-view video
Many applications in computer vision and computer graphics require dense correspondences between images of multi-view video streams. Most state-of-the-art algorithms estimate correspondences by considering pairs of images. However, in multi-view videos, several images capture nearly the same scene. In this article we show that this redundancy can be exploited to estimate more robust and consist...
متن کاملRobust and Fast Motion Estimation for Video Completion
A motion estimation method for completing a video with large and consecutive damage is introduced. It is principally based on sparse matching and interpolation. First, SIFT, which is robust to arbitrary motion, is used to efficiently obtain sparse correspondences in neighboring frames. To ensure these correspondences are uniformly distributed across the image, a fast dense point sampling method...
متن کاملEfficient Dense Scene Flow from Sparse or Dense Stereo Data
This paper presents a technique for estimating the threedimensional velocity vector field that describes the motion of each visible scene point (scene flow). The technique presented uses two consecutive image pairs from a stereo sequence. The main contribution is to decouple the position and velocity estimation steps, and to estimate dense velocities using a variational approach. We enforce the...
متن کاملOptical Flow for Glacier Motion Estimation
Quantitative measurements of glacier flow over time are an important ingredient for glaciological research, for example to determine the mass balances and the evolution of glaciers. Measuring glacier flow in multi-temporal images involves the estimation of a dense set of corresponding points, which in turn define the flow vectors. Furthermore glaciers exhibit rather difficult radiometry, since ...
متن کاملArticulated 3-d Modelling in a Wide-baseline Disparity Space
Image-based novel-view synthesis requires dense correspondences between the original views to produce a high quality synthetic view. In a wide-baseline stereo setup, dense correspondences are difficult to achieve due to the significant change in viewpoint giving rise to a number of problems. To improve their quality, the original, incomplete disparity maps are usually interpolated to fill in th...
